Silkworm (Amiga) Soundtrack
Silkworm is a 1988 Arcade title by Japanese company, Tecmo. It was given home console releases on Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, NES and of course, the Amiga.
The Amiga conversion was practically arcade-perfect, including the strange element of there being no ending to the game. The game would loop repeatedly until the player is out of continues. Setting up a twin-vehicle concept later capitalised on by Sales Curve in SWIV (Whose title was supposed Silkworm IV or Four Times Better Than Silkworm), this is a great two player shoot em up experience.
The Main Theme, which is the only song in the game, is by the great composer Barry Leitch, who was also responsible for some of the Top Gear series of games (Up to Top Gear Rally on the N64), it’s a great theme worth adding to your collection.
