[RELEASE] X-Men 2: Clone Wars

CoverArt

And here we go, after a long hiatus we’re back with a new release!

Unfortunately we haven’t been able to extract all the variations that happen during the game depending on the hero you’re playing due to how the sound engine works. We really can’t do anything about it. :(

Anyway! We’ll be right back with another release as soon as possible, stay tuned!

Technical problems

Hi everyone,

The data disk on my main rig is failing and I absolutely need to replace it ASAP before I lose EVERYTHING (more than 1 terabyte of data is kinda hard to backup) due to a failure.

I’ve already ordered a new hard disk and it should be here next week.

As soon as I’ll get it up and running I’ll be recording a new release, so expect it to come out somewhere between this week and the next one!

Thank you all for your patience and stay tuned! :)

Work, life, priorities.

Hi everyone,

I know it’s been quite some time since our last release and I want to reassure everyone that this project is absolutely NOT DEAD.

The thing is that I’ve been overwhelmed by work and stuff in life and priorities started kicking in.
It’s been more than a month that I’ve gone to bed at 2am and waking up early in the morning so I could get stuff done and whenever I got to finish earlier (which means midnight) I had absolutely no concentration (or will, I admit it) to get the headphones on and start recording new releases.

I realize that by doing this I’m letting a lot of people down here, so I’ll try working on my weekly schedule, trying to get some more time for the project so that we can start again pumping out releases at a steady rate.

I want to apologize for all those who’ve been waiting for several months for their game to be released, I can feel your pain every time I go into the Request thread and take a look at the latest pages, just keep in mind that I’ve not forgotten about you and, most of all, I DO care about your requests more than anything else.

This said, May is gonna be a super harsh month for me work wise, I cannot assure anyone that I’ll have time to do anything but I’ll try.
Eventually I’ll catch up during summer and try to release as many games as possible.

That’s all for now, thanks to everyone involved so far, the awesome mails I’ve been getting for some time, the ecstatic comments on youtube/facebook/twitter… keep ’em coming!

See you soon!

Registration bug

A kind Facebook fan pointed out that when you try to activate your newly registered account in the forum it will say “Invalid Activation Key”.

Don’t worry, the key is valid and your account has been correctly activated, you can go posting straight away!

Anyway, I’ll try to fix this bug so it won’t bother new users anymore when I have time.

Streets of Rage II Soundtrack: OST vs 16-bit Audiophile Project Release

(This awesome comparison was made by Roareye in the game’s release thread and it thoroughly deserves to be a Featured Article on this website, straight to the front page.
I really hope this will also encourage other people writing for us: we’d love to hear your voice, every single opinion matters and helps us growing and getting better.
Thank you Roareye, I hope to read more from you!)

It’s fair to say Streets of Rage II is a personal favourite of mine, and likely of many other people here. The late 80s house/early 90s rave themes are quintessential to the atmosphere of the brand and maybe that is partly why it is stuck in limbo now.

I own this soundtrack several times over. I’ll focus on the best two for this comparison (The Bare Knuckle remastered Soundtracks and the 16 Bit Audiophile version), however for information’s sake I’ve included the Yuzo Koshiro Best Collection vol.2 in the lineup of information.

1000 registered users!!!

Yeah, too bad that 80% of them are spam bots.

Sigh.

Due to our website being flooded by bots I had to remove some features to prevent them wrecking our database, precisely the extended profiles and notifications.

I’m still reluctant putting captchas, email confirmations and stuff like that because I want our users to have the best experience possible in our website and I know how frustrating is going through a registration process with captchas, secret questions and email confirmations, so I want to keep the registration process as smooth as possible.

Keep your eyes open for a new release, coming out by the end of the next week!
