This release is so special I don’t even know where to start.
Let’s start from the author: Lilmattere has done it again, and the absolute madman didn’t just rip one of the biggest soundtrack ever released on Mega Drive, but he went the extra mile and relogged ALL the VGMs himself from blast’em.
That’s right, that’s something not even ourselves have ever done, all for the sake of making the best soundtrack possible with the best accuracy to original hardware.
As said above, this is, I believe, one of the biggest soundtrack on Mega Drive in existence: if you thought that Sonic 3 & Knuckles was a huge release (which is, like, a bit cheating because it’s technically two separate games), wait for this: 84 tracks spanning across 4 discs.
I don’t even know what’s the total runtime of the thing, I’ll let you guys go through it and tell me, but I bet that it is going to take you an entire afternoon to listen to them all.
Thank you SO MUCH to Lilmattere for this enormous contribution, we can’t find the words to express our gratitude for this huge effort from one of our OG contributors.
A final word: when we do those huge releases, we often end up screwing up something in the process, maybe we mislabel a track or swap two tracks around, etc.
If you happen to find anything off, please do report back through our social pages or forums (just kidding, we froze our forums).
As always, thank you for following us and supporting us with your kind and heartwarming words.
P.S.: almost forgot this: Lilmattere took the reins of our Youtube channel and is doing a bit of work on it. We should, at some point, catch up with all the releases, so that’s another place where you can listen to our work and share the love/give feedback and a cool way, when we’ve caught up with the releases, to be notified when a new release is out!
This release is a special one as it celebrates the return of one of the OG contributors of this project after a 4 year hiatus: Lilmattere!
We’re really happy to see Lilmattere back and recording new releases.
As we speak, he’s now busy with, spoiler alert, the biggest release we’ve ever had and, don’t quote me on this, I think it is even bigger than Sonic 3 & Knuckles!
So welcome back Lilmattere! And for all of you following us, please stay tuned for new community releases!
ButcherGrindslam graces us with a completely new release: Outrun 2019!
A bit of a shame that this came 3 years late, it would have been dope to have this out in actual 2019, but, hey, it’s here!
Thanks to ButcherGrindslam for yet another contribution and I’ll see you next time… where we’ll witness the return of one of our first contributors, a real OG!
It’s not a major change but an important one so I’d appreciate if you could look into it.
The TL;DR is that I’ve posted an “adjusted” version of the Deadfish VGM Player made especially for VGMs which have been ripped with blast’em which will yield more accurate results, tempo-wise.
If you’re unsure about what to use or whether the VGM has been ripped with blast’em that’s perfectly ok, just keep on using the version of the Deadfish VGM player you already have as it will make a difference so small as to be indistinguishable.
Finally, I’ll take this opportunity to thank again all our contributors that have been pushing the project forward: without you, this project would probably be dead.
