New partnerships and website updates!

Hi everyone,

I’m super excited to introduce you to our two new partners.

You’ve probably “met” them already, one of them is RadioSEGA, an online radio that streams music from SEGA games and consoles. They have an awesome staff and everyone is really friendly in there!
We’ve been guests there once and totally had a blast.
They’ll be using our tracks to provide their listeners better audio quality.

The other new partner is Caverns of Hope! They have a project about Ecco the Dolphin games and have recently updated their enhanced version of Ecco PC with all sort of goodness… including our high quality soundtrack! I strongly suggest to give it a shot – you can come back and thank me later ;]

Needless to say, we’re really honored to have such awesome partners and we’re really looking forward expanding our network!
So if you know of a project which is somewhat affiliated with what we’re doing, please feel free to contact me and tell me about it and we’ll see what we can do about it.

Onto different matters… I’ve updated some pages of our website, in particular the Releases, FAQs, Equipment and Links & Contacts pages to better reflect the recent changes we had.

Finally, I’d like to give a big shoutout to DolfinhT, a streamer I’ve met over at RadioSEGA which does awesome speedruns of Ecco games and other classics!
He doesn’t stream often, but when he does he’s a cheerful and entertaining guy, so go give him a follow here and make sure to drop in chat and say “hi!” when he goes live!

If there are streamers who are interested in getting their stream promoted to get more viewers and are interested in streaming “under our flag”,  please contact me and I’ll arrange things for you.

Phew, that was a lot of stuff!
Know that I’ll start working on a new release next week so don’t go anywhere! :]

The making of the Ecco PC: Fixed & Enhanced version!

This is a terrific post wrote by one of the Ecco PC: Fixed & Enhanced version authors Klaimen in our forum, in occasion of their updated release, version 1.1! Since one of the main updates in this revision is the use of our high quality soundtrack, he decided to delight us with a “Making of”, taking us along the course of all the work they’ve been through.
We, at the 16-bit Audiophile Project, welcome his initiative and wish him and all the staff of his project all the best in the future.

Yesterday I released the Ecco PC Fixed and Enhanced Edition v1.1 on Caverns of Hope (https://web8.orcaserver.de/ecco/)! As you probably know already, the update features the 16bit Audiophile release of Ecco the Dolphin as a soundtrack option, as well the corresponding sound effects! I wanted to take this chance to talk a bit about the release, its production, how it enhances the game, and how to activate it ingame :)

Our project will be featured in RadioSEGA’s “The SEGA Lounge” show!

Hi guys,

me and Roareye got interviewed today for tomorrow’s show at RadioSEGA!

Unfortunately we had to pre-record it due to time zone issues and couldn’t do it live :(

The show will go live tomorrow, 25th of September at 8pm UK time, so make sure to tune in at RadioSega and join us in chat here.

Spoiler: my english is absolute garbage and I’d be surprised if you succeed in understanding an entire sentence I spoke, that’s why I’ll be in the chat, so I can explain what I just said in the interview :P

See you there!

[RELEASE] Ecco the Dolphin

Ecco the Dolphin

UPDATE: RadioSEGA agreed on using our tracks for their liveshow!! This is a huge achievement as our work will be exposed for the first time to a much bigger community and will get a lot of visibility.
For more updates and details, follow us on Twitter!

And here we go with a new, fresh release!

This time we made some one-time exceptions. First of all, this isn’t one of the most requested nor one of the oldest request made, so you may be asking yourself why the hell has this been released.

The reason behind this release is that an external project requested it so they could use it: Ecco the Dolphin: Caverns of Hope are responsible for a fixed and enhanced version of Ecco the Dolphin for PC!
This is a huge work and we’re both honored and humbled that they requested us to provide the Mega Drive tracks as alternative soundtrack for their project. That’s it: in their enhanced version of Ecco, you’ll be able to choose between the original PC soundtrack and our Mega Drive one!
This also meant that we have provided them the sound effects from the game and this is another one-time exception: 64 sound effects ripped is something I don’t want to do never again unless there’s a damn good reason for it; even if I ripped them as a single track it was quite an effort.

In addition, RadioSEGA will make a special live show on the 15th of September (7pm UTC) where 40 of the most voted tracks from the Ecco games will be played. You can vote for your favorite track here. The poll closes on the 13th of September at midnight.
This is an awesome opportunity to get more visibility should they decide to use our high quality tracks (which is something I’m looking forward).

That pretty much wraps it up, so head over to the download page (by clicking on the cover) to get it! Hi-res tracks will be up by the end of the next week.
