[DOUBLE RELEASE] Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 & 2: The Coin-Op!

tmnt-amigacover

“Heroes in a half-shell! Turtle Power!

Double Trouble today from the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! An icon of the late 80s and early 90s, the Turtles reached such dizzying levels of fame that their green faces were plastered on products big and small and it didn’t take long for video games to come along. The original Turtles was released on the NES and was ported twice to the Amiga, both by Ultra and again by Probe. The version recorded here is the Probe version, I will add the Ultra version when I can.

The classic 4-Player Arcade game also made it to the Amiga with an incredibly well-made Title Screen version of the classic TV Show theme. The company that built it went out of business just prior to it’s release, however, and four tracks are still stuck inside the game disk – inaccessible without hacking. I will also grab these when I can find a way to reach them that doesn’t require emulation.

UPCOMING RELEASES: This Friday’s release kicks off the start of many legendary soundtracks to be released this month, and you’ll love it to the “Nth” degree.

[RELEASE] Math’s Drill – MONTH OF AMIGA

mathsdrill-amigacover

“Thanks. Welcome to the Maths Drill. Make your choice.”

So we open the new week of MONTH OF AMIGA with an exclusive! Sadly that exclusive is Maths Drill. This “game” has not appeared on any other site, including lemonamiga.com, making this an exclusive to the internet for 16 Bit Audiophile.

There’s four tracks but only one of them is music – a surprisingly well realised chorus of “Everlasting Love” by Sandra (Which was a major pop song of the 1980s). I figured I’d open the week with an exclusive, albeit one that is hardly going to be on loop on your music player. Those worrying that more of these are to come, this is the only such title I have so everything else on it’s way is from bona-fide games. In fact you have TWO more releases this coming week.

UPCOMING RELEASES : On Wednesday you’ll have a big game with a small soundtrack and on Friday you’ll have the first game of a major Amiga franchise celebrating a high quality release through us. These are not to be missed. In the meantime, feel free to laugh at Maths Drill.

[RELEASE] Mortal Kombat (Amiga) – MONTH OF AMIGA

“MORTAL KOMBAAAAT!”

As the first release officially under the new MONTH OF AMIGA, we have now released the Amiga soundtrack to the original Mortal Kombat. And as an extra-special treat you’ll also get a few jingles and two voice clips (“Get Over Here!”).

Keep your eye on this site over the coming month for more MONTH OF AMIGA releases, including some little known titles and some major releases that sealed the Amiga in 16 Bit history. We will be trying to get out two a week over August to compensate for donluca’s absence and the lack of Mega Drive updates. See you next week for a rarity on Wednesday and an absolute classic later in the week.

Happy holidays!

IMG_20140805_170532To all of you who already have departed for some dreamy/exotic location and all the others waiting for their moment to arrive and finally get a bit of relax… I want to wish you awesome summer holidays!

Lucky coincidences of work, study and friends got me some extra days off work, so I departed immediately and started my holidays earlier to get some much needed (and deserved, I dare say) rest and relax.

Sadly, this means that unless I manage to squeeze somehow a release when I’ll get back home to depart immediately two days later (which is HIGHLY unlikely) there won’t be any more releases in August and we’ll start working on stuff again on September.

Anyway, I hope you are all doing well and I’m going to see you all in September with new, awesome releases… and maybe even something more!

[RELEASE] Captain Planet and the Planeteers

captainplanet-amigacover

“We’re the Planeteers, you can be one too! Cos saving our planet is the thing to do. Lootin’ and pollutin’ is not the way. Hear what Captain Planet has to say! THE POWER IS YOURS!

Finally worked my head around the audio desk donluca sent me and decided to get a mucho difficult soundtrack out first to ease congestion later. Captain Planet and the Planeteers was a game best known for coming free with the Amiga 500+ Cartoon Pack (Along with Photon Paint and Lemmings), and as such finding its way into the homes of many Amiga owners by default. The game itself is tough, sometimes due to difficult game design, other times due to lacklustre controls. Though did you find the hidden Lemming on Ma-Ti’s level?

[RELEASE] Contra: Hard Corps

Contra: Hard Corps Soundtrack

Finally it’s out!!!

Sorry for the huge delay but me and Haggar had had a lot of problems (ISP related, power outages due to storms, etc…) but in the end we made it!

A massive, outstanding soundtrack, get it while it’s hot!
