Streets of Rage II Soundtrack: OST vs 16-bit Audiophile Project Release

(This awesome comparison was made by Roareye in the game’s release thread and it thoroughly deserves to be a Featured Article on this website, straight to the front page.
I really hope this will also encourage other people writing for us: we’d love to hear your voice, every single opinion matters and helps us growing and getting better.
Thank you Roareye, I hope to read more from you!)

It’s fair to say Streets of Rage II is a personal favourite of mine, and likely of many other people here. The late 80s house/early 90s rave themes are quintessential to the atmosphere of the brand and maybe that is partly why it is stuck in limbo now.

I own this soundtrack several times over. I’ll focus on the best two for this comparison (The Bare Knuckle remastered Soundtracks and the 16 Bit Audiophile version), however for information’s sake I’ve included the Yuzo Koshiro Best Collection vol.2 in the lineup of information.

1000 registered users!!!

Yeah, too bad that 80% of them are spam bots.

Sigh.

Due to our website being flooded by bots I had to remove some features to prevent them wrecking our database, precisely the extended profiles and notifications.

I’m still reluctant putting captchas, email confirmations and stuff like that because I want our users to have the best experience possible in our website and I know how frustrating is going through a registration process with captchas, secret questions and email confirmations, so I want to keep the registration process as smooth as possible.

Keep your eyes open for a new release, coming out by the end of the next week!

[RELEASE] Streets of Rage 2

StreetsOfRage2

Streets of Rage 2 has been released!
This is THE soundtrack of the Sega Mega Drive, you cannot miss on this one!

I’ve decided to add two bonus tracks to this release: these two tracks are inside the game but are never played!

Enjoy and I’ll see you next time!

Updates

Hi everyone,

I know it’s been a long time since our last release (more than 10 days) but I’ve been really busy as I’ve started several projects which are draining my free time away (and the last bit of my time is getting drained by Reaper of Souls, thanks Blizzard).

I’ll try to come up with a new release by the end of the next week, no promises though, time is really scarce on my side.

On the other hand, I’m absolutely sure that your patience will be greatly rewarded as the next soundtrack is possibly one of the best piece of music ever heard on the Mega Drive/Genesis.

Stay tuned!

300 members!!

Well, if someone came to me last year and told me “hey don, you know, you’re going to have 300 members in your forum in one year” I’d probably make a funny face and tell him “yeah… sure…” while patting on his virtual shoulder.

Guess what?
As a write this post, we’ve reached 300 members on the forums!!!

I want to thank all of you guys for following us so far, watching our community grow day by day is awesome and it really makes me feel less lonely on this small retrogaming music island.

What’s more, our Youtube channel has 93 subscribers and 19482 unique views and last month people have watched a grand total of 3120 minutes of videos (that’s 52 hours!!) and our Facebook page has 126 Likes so far!

The project is growing each day and I can’t be happier, I really hope that this will turn one day into something huge and become a landmark for people looking for high quality retro game music.

I’ll close this post saying that a new release is coming very very soon and the next one is already in the works and it’s gonna be epic!

Again, thank you for sticking with us and I’ll see you guys soon!
